Castles for sale? Well, castles do come up for sale occasionally, though genuine medieval castles don't tend to figure in these very much. Most medieval castles are local or national treasures and have to be looked after in partnership with large, official organisations who can help with serious maintenance issues and fund raising. In the UK these tend to include English Heritage, the National Trust and the Historic Houses Association.

A castle doesn't have to be medieval to be enjoyed as a unique home, however. Take for example, Pennsylvania Castle in Dorset, England.
